MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Symphony Orchestra has selected businessman Arthur Seessel to serve as interim chief executive officer.

The native Memphian is the former president of Seessel's Supermarket and serves on a variety of corporate and community boards.

Seessel will lead the organization while it conducts a national search for the successor to Ryan Fleur, who has taken an executive position with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

More than 400 musicians, staff and volunteers comprise the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Memphis Symphony Chorus and the Memphis Symphony League, which operate educational programs in addition to performing concerts.
