Video of girls fighting near Frayser High appears online

(WMC-TV) - Video of a violent fight in Frayser has surfaced just days after a pregnant teen was beaten near Trezevant High School and the video was posted online.

Jakevia Woodson was beaten after school by a group of other girls.

"To me, I got jumped," said Woodson.

Woodson showed off cuts on her face that had yet to heal.

"It was very violent for me, I was scared for my life," said Woodson.  "What if my sister wasn't there?  What if my best friend wasn't there?  I could have been there in the street dead or something."

The mother of another teenager who saw that video said the same thing recently happened to her daughter while walking home from Frayser High School.

Video of that fight was also posted online.

Two Frayser High School students who asked to remain anonymous said videos of fights like these generally end up on the Internet.

"I think it's just mothers not raising their people right, I guess," said one student.

"If you ain't raised right, you going to do some bad things," said another student.

A police officer who works in the schools told Action News 5 that girl fights have increased in frequency and intensity in recent years, but do not always involve students who are actually enrolled.

There were suspensions and criminal charges in the case of the Frayser High School fight.  The investigation into the fight involving Trezevant students continues.

Neither fight happened on campus.
