Memphis police officer charged with DUI

(WMC-TV) - A Memphis police officer is charged with DUI, among other charges, after police say he drove drunk to pick up his girlfriend.

The official report says Officer Jared Collins was drunk when he picked up his girlfriend who was already being questioned by police.

Police say he smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot, watery eyes and was unsteady on his feet.

Officer Collins is charged with DUI, reckless driving, and public intoxication.
