Witness retaliation
Police say a key witness in a murder case was beaten by the defendant's brother in retaliation for telling his story in court.  Jason Miles will have more details from the witness' family.

Action News 5 has learned more about an incident yesterday involving a Shelby County Sheriff's deputy, a canine officer, and a suspect.  Janice Broach will have the all new information tonight.

Pat Summitt steps down
After 38 years as head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols, Pat Summitt is stepping down.  Jarvis Greer has more on the legacy of basketball's winningest coach.

Biting back
Experts expect more mosquitoes this summer because of the mild winter and warmer temperatures, and researchers in Tennessee are developing a new type of repellent to bite back.  Anna Marie Hartman has details on a new compound that may be thousands of times stronger than DEET.
