(WMC-TV) – The elderly man pulled from a burning home Monday evening has died.
Firefighters arrived to a home on Winwood Drive just before 6 p.m. Flames were visible in the one story home.
Family tells WMC-TV that the man's grandson and friend ran back into the house to pull him out. When they found him, he was not breathing. 79-year-old George Brack was taken to The MED where he later died.
It took fire crews about a half hour to knock down the flames. Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire and if the home had a working smoke detector.
Six adults and four children are being helped by the Red Cross.
