Mid-South dancer comes home from Las Vegas

Meet Delecia Dean. "I live in Las Vegas " Delecia may live and dance in Las Vegas but she calls the Mid-South home. "I graduated from Whitehaven High School , then I went on the graduate from Jackson State University ." Now Delecia is back home dancing in Gold Strike Casino's Midnight Fantasy show. Delicia says when she heard about the show she couldn't wait to audition. It gave her a chance to come back to the Mid-South. "My mom's my best friend. I have to come home so we can hang out." Being a dancer was not always Delecia's dream. It was a dream she realized after college. "Then I came back home to Memphis and I ended up doing a couple of plays at Theater Memphis and I met a few people who said you should just dance and I was like ok I'm going to try that and it just worked for me." Delecia says her story is one that should encourage a lot of young Mid-South girls. "For the young people, don't let people discourage you because you are from a small city. It doesn't matter how old you are because I started really late. I just put my mind to it and said I want to do this. I want to go venture, I want to see the world. I want to see everything I can possible see."
