(WMC-TV) – Surveillance video captured about ten teens breaking into the Delta Rent All, Inc. in Clarksdale, Mississippi. What did they steal? Forty-eight guns.
"They took shotguns and rifles, no AK-47's or AK assault rifles or anything like that," said Hartley Kittle, owner of Delta Rent All, Inc.
So far, police arrested six juveniles and retrieved a laptop, 11 firearms, and a pellet gun.
Several other suspects and dozens of weapons, though, are still on the street. That concerns the store's owner.
Kittle says several days before the teens broke in, guns were stolen from the same store after someone else broke in.
"Had broken a window up. We boarded it up in anticipation of replacing the glass on Monday," explained Kittle. "We made a decision not to replace the glass and we boarded up the store and had plywood up. They came in Monday night took the plywood off and entered the building."
Kittle says what is shocking is that while the teens were clearing the gun racks at his store, not one passing motorist stopped to see what was going on or even call the police.
"They just chose not to get involved and that's more disturbing than anything," said Kittle.
