(WMC-TV) – A former Jackson police officer was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday on charges that he filed a false police report.
Travis Hass, 29, was arrested and charged after reporting that he had been shot after struggling with two unknown assailants over his gun in June 2010.
He was shot four times, once in the shoulder, the right thigh, and twice in his bullet proof vest.
The shooting was investigated after the Jackson Police Department noticed inconsistencies in what was reported to have happened.
Hass later resigned from the police department.
