Arkansas driveway re-surfacing scam

A consumer alert about a driveway re-surfacing scam.

Arkansas' Attorney General says every year men with asphalt trucks drive through neighborhoods and offer one-time-only deals for paving jobs.

They usually claim the asphalt is left over from a previous job, then charge thousands of dollars.

Here are some of the warning signs--

The scammers rarely if ever offer a written estimate for the total cost of the job.

They rarely offer contact information, and if they do, it's often an out-of-town number that ends up being phony.

If they are pressuring you to have the paving done right away, it is too good to be true.
