Jury could soon be finalized in MTSU student murder trial

(WMC-TV) - Jury selection could be finalized Tuesday in the murder trial of MTSU student Shanterrica Madden.

Those jurors will have a large amount of evidence to consider, including a disturbing 911 tape.

MTSU basketball player Tina Stewart was found stabbed to death insider her apartment last year.  Her boyfriend, KC Akuna, found her and called 911.

"Please come to Hazelwood Apartments, please," Akuna said on the 911 recording.  "My girl's bleeding to death, please."

Madden is accused of murdering her former roommate and is charged with first degree murder, but claims she did it in self defense.

The state hopes to give a timeline of the murder using phone records, texts, and police video which shows Stewart's cell phone, missing kitchen knives, and Stewart's bedroom, where prosecutors said she was killed.

The jury will be selected in Chattanooga.  The trial is expected to start Wednesday and is expected to last about eight days.
