(WMC-TV) - The man accused of a series of rapes in the Cordova area appeared in court Thursday morning. He is only charged with one rape but he may be responsible for many more.
Anthony Alliano, 41, has been at the at the Criminal Justice Center since his arrest earlier this month. He has been unable to post his $250,000 bond.
Alliano is charged with aggravated rape, robbery, and burglary, in connection with one assault. Investigators believe he has been raping women in Cordova since 2003.
The break in the case came when a woman who was raped in 2010 identified Alliano in a lineup. That was all after police caught him on surveillance video using the victim's stolen credit card.
The last time Alliano was in court, he was ordered to submit to a blood test in order to determine whether there is a connection between him and as many as six other rapes.
His case was reset to May 15.
