(WMC-TV) - Investigators are looking for clues after a suspicious church fire early Tuesday morning.
The blaze basically destroyed the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Earle, Arkansas.
Crews were still putting out hot spots hours after flames engulfed the church.
Now, everywhere you look there is charred rubble. Church members are in shock.
"I mean it's horrible to see a church home go down, any church home, it's very sad," said church member Beatrice Jarrett.
Members say the roof collapsed and destroyed everything underneath.
The fire that raced through the historic church is being labeled by investigators as suspicious.
Congregation members say St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church is one of the oldest in the city. It stood in Earle for 114 years and only took about two hours to turn to ashes.
Church members say they are leaning on their God to deal with this tragedy. They say there is already talk of rebuilding.
