Survey: Memphis has cheapest gas in the country

(WMC-TV) - Gas prices have fallen more than 18 cents in the past six weeks, and Memphis is home to the lowest gas costs in the country.

The latest Lundberg Survey found the Bluff City has the nation's lowest average price at $3.34 for regular unleaded.

The highest gas prices are in San Francisco, where prices are over $4 a gallon.

The national average stands at $3.78 a gallon.

The study also shows that over the past two weeks, the price of gas has dropped six cents due to lower crude oil prices.

The lowest gas prices Monday morning were at the Sam's Club on Highway 64 and the Costco on North Germantown Parkway with $3.16 a gallon.  The Dodge's Store on Elvis Presley Boulevard charged $3.24 a gallon.
