MARSHALL COUNTY, MS -

(WMC-TV) - Investigators are searching for the final suspect accused in last month's attack on a Marshall County, Mississippi teen.

In all, four suspects have been charged in the assault on Charles Hardeman, but investigators said a fifth suspect, Xavier Parks, is still on the run.

Parks is also wanted on aggravated assault and kidnapping charges.

Monday evening, Action News 5 got word that Parks and Alexander Carter were considered suspects in the case after running off into the woods.  Carter was arrested Monday night.

Hardeman was tied up and thrown into a pond outside his father's home in Holly Springs, Mississippi, which was then set on fire.

Hardeman was able to free himself, but wrecked a truck while attempting to get help.

He was taken to the MED in serious condition but has since been released from the hospital.

Last week, the case took a strange turn after Hardeman's 19-year-old sister was charged for helping in the plot.

Two other men, Gregory Jenkins and Kevin Schrock, were also arrested in connection to this crime.

Marshall County investigators said that robbery was the motive behind the whole plot.

If you have information about the whereabouts of Parks, call the Marshall County Sheriff's Office at (662) 252-1311.
