Security guard recovering after being shot in head

(WMC-TV) - A security guard is recovering after he was shot in the head late Wednesday night.

Memphis police said the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Camelot Manor Apartments in the 4000 block of Camelot Lane.

Three men reportedly got into an argument with the 31-year-old security guard, who was shot in the head and arm.

"Guards just be getting shot up and stuff," said resident Jacory Cooksey.  "Makes me scared to come outside at night."

Cooksey, who also works as a security guard elsewhere, said guards do drivers license checks, but he would like to see Camelot Manor install a gate with an access keypad.

The guard is recovering at Methodist South.  He has been upgraded to non-critical condition.

There is no description of the shooters.  Call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH if you have any information.
