(WMC-TV) – Just hours after surgery, a Memphis-born Olympic hopeful is at the finish line of the Exergy Tour in Boise waiting for her teammates to cross the finish line.

According to our NBC affiliate KTVB, Kristin Armstrong showed up at the finish line after having pins placed in her collarbone.

The gold medal cyclist crashed rounding a corner Thursday during the Exergy Tour.  She broke her collarbone, but still finished that race.

Cell phone video captured by a spectator at the race shows the crash.

She is hopeful that her cycling season will still be enough for her to be chosen to represent Team USA in the 2012 London Olympics.

The USA cycling team will be announced on June 15.

Armstrong was born in Memphis. In 2008, she won the Olympic gold medal in the road cycling individual time trial.
