Stolen guns suspect appears in court

(WMC-TV) - A man charged in connection with dozens of stolen guns from a Whitehaven home appeared in court Tuesday.

More than 40 guns and 10 pocket watches were stolen from the home on May 23. The stolen property is worth more than $35,000.

The suspect, Johnny Wash, is accused of burglary, theft, and possession of a controlled substance.

According to police, Wash said he bought two guns for $300 through an apartment window from a gang member.

OCU agents found the guns and marijuana under Wash's mattress.

Wash's court date was reset to June 5.  He is being held on a $30,000 bond.

Meanwhile, a second suspect was arrested in connection with the gun theft.

Michael Wilson in charged with facilitating a felony and aggravated burglary.
