(WMC-TV) - A Mid-South jail is trying to figure out the motive behind an employee being hit in the face.
According to Richard Hackett, the spokesman for DeSoto County Sheriff's office, a detention specialist was hit in the face during visitation Monday night at the DeSoto County jail.
Sheriff Bill Rasco said, "These men and women who work in our jail are an important and respected part in the chain of justice."
Rasco said there is zero tolerance for violence toward jail employees.
At the moment no further details have been released and the issue is under investigation.
