(WMC-TV) - Shine up your cars and put on your blue suede shoes. Classic car and Elvis lovers are celebrating the third annual Elvis Presley Classic Car Show at Graceland this weekend.
This car show is a part of Graceland's list of activities that happen year round in honor of the 35th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death.
Steve Bledsoe was a part of the show in the past but he said he just wanted to come out to enjoy this year's festivities.
"For me this is the perfect combo since I'm a fan of cars and Elvis," he said.
Cars like classic Fords to modern PT Cruisers are on display this weekend.
Car show participant Ronnie Stocks decided to bring his 1968 Dodge Charger out for some air this time around.
Stocks said he bought the car brand new when he got back from Vietnam. He said bringing his car out for the show was only the second time he has driven it.
Stocks wants the people who attend this event to "see what older car look like and learn to appreciate them."
This display of "toys" is not just for locals, car lovers from all over the country came out to participate.
Gary O'Connor owns a 1951 Ford Country Squire. His road to Graceland started in San Francisco on April 26.
Since then, Gary and his wife traveled through more than five states before arriving to this car show in Memphis.
Although this is the first stop on his trip, it is the 12th car show for his Country Squire.
Even though it is on display, O'Connor does not want people to get his car confused with some of the other cars at Graceland this weekend.
"It will never be a show car, it's a driver," he explained.
If you would like to check out the classics, admission is free on Friday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 2, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
