(WMC-TV) - Police are searching for a man who robbed a Memphis bank at gunpoint Monday morning.
A male suspect was waiting for employees outside the LG&W Federal Credit Union on the 3700 block of Covington Pike around 8 a.m.
Surveillance photos show the man, dressed in all black, chasing a frightened employee across the lobby of the bank with a gun.
He forced the employee to open the vault. After ordering employees to lie on the ground, the suspect took the money from the vault and fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30, about 5'10" tall, and weighing 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, black jacket, and a bandana over his mouth. He was also wearing a wig with shoulder length black wavy hair.
The Safe Streets Task Force is conducting the investigation. The Covington Pike branch of LG&W Federal Credit Union will be closed until Wednesday.
