(WMC-TV) – An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a 37-year-old rapper in south Memphis.
Officers say two men were arguing on the porch of a home on Davant Avenue when the shots were fired.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Adrian Thomas had been shot. By the time paramedics got there, he was dead.
The suspect, Ronald McAllister, 38, had fled from the scene.
He has since been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Action News 5 spoke with the victim's wife, Malikah Thomas, shortly after the shooting. She said her husband was an aspiring musician who hoped his new CD would be his breakthrough.
She and her husband have two young children, and another one on the way.
"I would like to say for the city of Memphis tell the city please stop the violence put the guns down I don't understand why people need a gun why people can't just talk things out I don't understand that I never will," Thomas said.
McAllister is charged with second degree murder.
