(WMC-TV) - Everyone was forced to the floor at an auto parts store in Hickory Hill Monday when two robbers entered and demanded cash, according to a court affidavit.

About 7:15 p.m., the pair took money from the business and from a customer and fled in a blue, 2000 Chevrolet Impala. Police soon caught up with them.

The Impala sped through a neighborhood, nearly striking several people, before going in reverse and hitting a squad car. The two men ran away.

Officers caught one of them while the other escaped.

James D. Lofton, 24, of Memphis, is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, and with evading arrest by auto and on foot.
