Trial to begin for teen accused of sexually assaulting toddler sister

(WMC-TV) - The trial for a Memphis teen accused of raping his toddler sister two years ago begins Monday.

James Prindle, who was 15 when he was arrested, faces decades behind bars.  Now 17, he will have his day in court to try to prove he did not violate his young sister.

Investigators said Prindle was babysitting his two younger siblings in their Cordova apartment when a number of other boys came over.

At some point, Prindle's 23-month-old sister was sexually assaulted, but the boys told investigators that someone who broke into the home did it.

Prindle was arrested and put into juvenile court custody.  He was then transferred to the teenage facility at Jail East.

Prindle is still in jail on a $150,000 bond.  He has an online following that believes in his innocence.
