(WMC-TV) – To recognize National HIV Testing Day next week, two Memphis groups are coming together to provide the public with free HIV and syphilis testing.
The Memphis Ryan White Program and First Impressions Remix are teaming up Wednesday to provide free testing.
"One of the best ways to encourage HIV/AIDS awareness is to meet individuals where they are and where they'll be open to learning," said Memphis Ryan White Program Director Dorcas Young.
The free testing will be held on Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Impressions Remix at 1470 Elvis Presley Boulevard.
In addition to the testing, there will be food and a live DJ at the event.
Last year, more than 300 people were tested.
