(WMC-TV)- These days, mobile phones can do a lot of things, especially if you have a smart phone.
People use their smart phones for calling, texting, social media... but now, police are making use of the technology as well.
Police caught up with Edmond Cleveland, 52, two hours after they say he broke into a vehicle on Sunday and stole an iPhone along with several other items including a 22-caliber rifle, tennis shoes, a knife, and a gym bag.
Officers were able to track down Cleveland by bringing up the location of the stolen iPhone through GPS technology. Officers then searched the car Cleveland was driving and found the other stolen items.
Cleveland is charged with motor vehicle burglary and theft. He is in the Shelby County Jail and no bond has been set.
