(WMC-TV) - A plane made an emergency landing at the Millington Regional Jetport Tuesday that sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.
Three people were onboard the small engine plane when it began having trouble with its landing gear.
"They had to be extricated from the aircraft due to the way the plane had landed," explained Millington Fire Chief Gary Graves.
The plane was en route to the east coast from Texas. It was landing in Millington for a fuel stop when the right side landing gear collapsed.
"No fire resulted from the landing. Once the landing gear collapsed, it shifted the plane to the right. It skidded on the runway and bent the plane up on the right side propeller, right wing. So it'll have to have some major repairs before it can leave again," said Chief Graves.
The woman who received minor injuries during the rough landing was taken to Methodist North Hospital for treatment.
