(WMC-TV) - The St. Louis Cardinals are well represented at this year's All-Star game in Kansas City as four redbirds make the National League roster, managed by former St. Louis skipper Tony La Russa.
Carlos Beltran and Rafael Furcal were both voted in as starters.
Beltran makes his seventh all-star squad, and will get to do so in the city where he began his career.
The first year Cardinal has been better than even the most optimistic Cards fan could have hoped for, hitting .310, leading the National League with 61 RBI, and ranking second in home runs with 20. He will also compete in the All-Star home run derby
Furcal earns his third all-star bid, hitting .281 with five home runs and 52 runs scored.
Yadier Molina makes his fourth straight all-star team, as the former Memphis Redbird is on pace for his best offensive season yet.
Molina is hitting .312 with 13 home runs and 45 RBI.
And reliever turned starter Lance Lynn gets an all-star nod for the first time.
The former Ole Miss Rebel has struggled of late, but has a 10-4 record with a 3.62 ERA this season.
