(WMC-TV) - Thanks to record online voting and a late Twitter campaign, St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese is headed to his first All-Star game after winning the National League Final Vote on Thursday.
Freese received 8.4 million votes through MLB.com, text and Twitter, where fans used the hashtag #FreesePlease during the final hours of voting.
Freese joins teammates Yadier Molina, Lance Lynn, Carlos Beltran and Rafael Furcal at the Mid-Summer Classic.
