(WMC-TV) - Team Taboo, the force behind an explicit viral video that got a Memphis Club shutdown, has made a patriotic push for membership.

The infamous Team Taboo is asking people to register to vote on their Facebook page.  We're told Taboo has around 500 members in Memphis and many more on Facebook.  Team Taboo is not shut down. The group is actively looking for more members.

"I've never known that Taboo would have went that far," said Team Taboo spokesperson Kenneth Lee when asked about the party held at Club Elements.  "As a result I am thinking of throwing in the towel and just resigning," Lee added.

Lee told us he had no idea the party at Club Elements hosted by Taboo would get so wild.  The video of the nudity and sex acts at the party went viral.  The district attorney has since shut down Club Elements under the nuisance ordinance.

"The thing that's most unclear is whether a single instance of this conduct could rise to the level of public nuisance," stated law professor Steve Mulroy.

It will be up to a judge, but that would only involve Club Elements and not Team Taboo.  Lee says Taboo has parties in many different places.  He says he planned the infamous one at Club Elements.

"I just planned for them to have a party like any other Memphis club and have fun. I would never have expected them to go that far," Lee stated.

A group called the 901 Boys is making a movie downtown.  They are not Team Taboo members, but 19-year-old Quintarria Heard is.

"I'm new to taboo. I'm just a model," said Heard.

Heard was also at the Taboo party at Club Elements.  She says she knew what to expect.

"People were telling me people be having sex.  Everybody going to be naked," Heard said, "they were telling me all of this stuff.  Basically everything they told me happened."

Heard was not involved in the explicit activity.

Heard also told us that she took her sister to the party, and that she didn't like it.  When asked why she said "it wasn't lady like".

Club Elements has a date in environmental court to answer the nuisance charge, but so far, no one in Team Taboo has been charged with anything.

Action News 5 has learned part of the investigation involves whether minors were at the Club Elements party.  So far, it does not appear minors were there.
