(WMC-TV) - First there was pipe kitty, and now there is pipe puppy.
Public Works responded to a call along the Greenline yesterday on Waring where a girl and her mother found a "pooch" in a drainage pipe.
Public Works employees and The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) workers started working to free the dog.
They used a back hoe to break the pipe and clear away the dirt to rescue the dog.
The pooch is expected to be okay, and it was just a little hungry.
People on the scene named the pup "Lucky."
