(WMC-TV) – Dateline NBC is taking a look back at a 1965 NBC News documentary that was based in the Mid-South.
You may remember the name Booker Wright. He became an unsung hero during the Civil Rights Movement because of his story.
Booker was a waiter in a "whites only" restaurant in Mississippi. He also did not hold back his true feelings about the position he held.
His tale is one about the price you often pay to do the right thing.
Dateline NBC's Lester Holt is revisiting Wright's story. He spoke with Action News 5's Lindsey Brown Friday afternoon to give us some insight into what he found when he started looking back on the incredible turn of events involving Booker Wright.
Tune into Action News 5 at 4 p.m. to see the full interview with Lester Holt.
