(WMC-TV)- The mother who left her child in a hot car Wednesday was issued a citation.
A call was made to police this morning about a child who was left in a vehicle on Summer Avenue.
When Memphis police officers and the fire department arrived, they found a boy in the vehicle with the windows rolled up.
He was taken to LeBonheur Children's Hospital to be evaluated.
"It's never okay to leave your kid in a car on a cold day, a hot day, even briefly with the windows down, especially in the summer is when we start to see problems," said DCS spokesman Brandon Gee.
The boy's mother was issued a misdemeanor citation for leaving a child in an unattended vehicle.
