(WMC-TV) - We could see closing arguments today in Jerry Lard's capital murder trial in Arkansas.
The prosecution could put one more witness on the stand Thursday.
A few doctors, jailers and Lard's half brother were called to the stand to testify Wednesday.
The defense admits Lard is the one caught on dash cam video shooting and killing Trumann police officer Jonathan Schmidt in April of 2011. But they say Lard has mental problems.
However, doctors refuted those claims Wednesday. The intake officer who booked Lard into jail said Lard did not indicate a mental illness during her review.
Prosecutors are going to push for the death penalty.
