Three people killed in I-40 crash identified

(WMC-TV) – The names of the three people killed in a crash on Interstate 40 Monday have been released.

The three people killed and the two injured were all from Louisville, Kentucky.

Jose Hinojosa, 36, Fernando Carrasco, 21, and Lupe Hinojosa, age unknown, all died when the tire of the Ford pick-up truck they were riding in blew out causing them to cross the median.  They crashed into a semi head-on.

Initially, it was reported that five people were injured in the crash in addition to the people who were killed. The information provided to Action News 5 Tuesday reveals that two people were injured. Those two people are Tirso Rodriquez, 32, who was driving the Ford truck, and Noe Sauceo Villa, 25.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

Diesel fuel and antifreeze spilled onto the interstate during the accident. Traffic was stopped in both directions of I-40 near mile marker 55 for several hours as crews cleaned up and investigated the accident.
