Double-murder suspect on the run in W. Tennessee

(WMC-TV) – A man wanted for murder in Texas is on the run in West Tennessee. He is armed and is considered extremely dangerous.

Officials say Donny Greenhow filled his gas tank in Ripley Thursday morning. He drove off when he spotted police in the area. He left his I.D. on the counter.

He is armed with an AK-47 and officials say he was driving a vehicle he stole from Waco, Texas.  Investigators have located the vehicle they believe he was driving.  It had been abandoned.

Greenhow is wanted for the double-murder of a couple near Chandler, Texas. The bodies of 74-year-old Peter Shick and his wife, 55-year-old Latrisha, were found in their home Friday.

Authorities say Greenhow was a family friend of the victims. They say Latrisha's body was discovered in the kitchen and her husband, Peter, was found in their bedroom.

Investigators linked Greenhow to the murders by the fingerprints he left behind in a SUV stolen from Kaufman County.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department called in U.S. Marshals to help capture him. They are also enlisting the help of an air unit to help search the woods.

Right now, police are in the area of Highway 87 west of Ripley.

Officials suspect Greenhow has been in the area for about a week and a woman who saw him recently reported that he was wearing all camouflage.
