(WMC-TV) – Dimitrie Colbert, 20, has pled guilty in the first degree murder of his girlfriend, Janette Corria.

In his guilty plea, Colbert agreed to life in prison with possibility of parole and four additional years for intentionally evading arrest in a motor vehicle.

The Memphis Police Department investigation revealed that Colbert followed Corria to her home in the 7200 block of Hollorn late on the night of August 27th, 2011.

After confronting her about a relationship with another man, Colbert took her to Arkansas in his car.

He then beat Corria in the head, strangled her, shot her, and ran over her with the car.

Investigators learned that Corria managed to escape from Colbert during the attack only to have Colbert force her back into the car.
