BAYOU CORNE, LA (WAFB) -

Residents who live near the giant sinkhole in Assumption Parish are demanding answers from all agencies involved in the investigation.

Texas Brine, the company that owns the compromised property, and local state agencies have set up staging area near the sinkhole and say they have been monitoring the situation around the clock.

Texas Brine and the Assumption Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness have been providing daily updates and photos online. Residents say the scientific data is not answering their questions.

"There are so many different possibilities. Is it worse than we think? Is it not as bad as we think?  We need some answers," said Warren Coupel, public meeting organizer.

Coupel and another concerned citizen have organized a town hall meeting on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at St. Joseph the Walker Church. They hope all parties involved in the sinkhole investigation will show up and answer their questions.
