(WMC-TV) - Southaven Mayor Greg Davis was scheduled to appear in DeSoto County Chancery Court Wednesday morning for a hearing on a divorce agreement with his ex-wife.
However, attorneys agreed to an order of continuance, which means a hearing will be held at a later date.
Davis' wife Suzann wants to amend or modify the terms of the child support agreement. She also wants court-ordered child support.
According to court documents, Mrs. Davis accuses the mayor, her ex-husband, of hiding money from her and using his political clout to threaten her. She also accuses Davis of drinking excessively around their children.
Action News 5 contacted attorneys for both the mayor and Mrs. Davis, but neither of them would comment. Mayor Davis' attorney went on to say there is a private gag order amongst the attorneys.
Meanwhile, Mayor Davis is still currently involved in a legal battle with the Mississippi State Auditor's Office.
The state is attempting to garnish Davis' checks to force him to pay the remaining money he owes the City of Southaven.
The divorce hearing will be continued until October 10 at 9 a.m. at the DeSoto County Courthouse in Hernando.
