Man murdered at gas station was a father of two

(WMC-TV) – A chilling photo released by investigators shows a murder suspect armed with a gun. A second suspect is hidden behind a post. Both are still on the run after a gas station murder in Mississippi.

Children walked right past bright yellow crime tape on their way home from school Wednesday and stared.

The crime scene tape is all that is left from the scene where Raid Ottallah's best friend Tarik Abudieh was gunned down.

"Before he got killed, an hour, hour and a half, he called me here you know, how's everything? He's checking on me, I'm checking on him and 11:30 he's on the ground laying by his car, shot, dead," said Ottallah.

Abudieh and another worker were shot closing the gas station in Sardis late Monday night.

Investigators hope someone will recognize the shooter by his unique white jacket, possibly lined with skulls.

Abudieh died on the scene and the other victim was released from The MED Wednesday.

"He would help you before he would hurt you and for somebody to go and kill him just like that, I mean, I keep thinking about it, man," said Ottallah. "Why this person did that? For what? Ask him for some money he'll give it to you. That's how simple is this guy, just to take his life like that?"

The news was especially hard for Ottallah because he says his best friend and future roommate was set to take his test to become an American citizen on Thursday. Abudieh was planning to visit his family in his home country of Jordan.

"He has two daughters back at home in Jordan. His dad, his mom, he's got brothers over there, sisters you know. I know they will miss him very bad," said Ottallah.

Authorities also believe whoever pulled the trigger had an accomplice.

If you know anything that could help investigators solve this crime you're urged to call the Panola County Sheriff's Office at 662-563-6230.
