Man, 73, cited for crashing through two businesses

(WMC-TV) – The man who crashed his car through two stores on Germantown Parkway received a reckless driving citation as a result of the accident.

Warren Lesmeister, 73, told police he was parked to the east of the building on Exeter Road. When he shifted his car into gear, he hit the accelerator and went through the wall of the building. He continued to hit his gas pedal, driving the car through another wall and into a second business.

Three people were injured in the accident. One woman was seriously injured when she became trapped between a desk and the car. The three victims were taken to Germantown Methodist Hospital and are expected to be okay.

The cost of damages to the building is estimated to be $50,000.
