(WMC-TV) - As of Tuesday, four Mid-South Mississippi counties have new cases of the West Nile Virus.
Health officials say Desoto, Bolivar, Sunflower, and Leflore counties all have reported new infections. This brings the total number of state cases to 186. And there have been four deaths.
Right now, there are 43 new cases in Arkansas. That ties the state's record high number.
There have been four deaths reported there as well.
And in Tennessee, 24 positive human cases have been reported. Fortunately, there have been no deaths in Tenn. at this time.
