(WMC-TV) – Investigators are looking into an incident that forced the evacuation of Kirby High School in Memphis.
Twenty-two students complained of the eye and skin irritation after someone allegedly threw something in the hallway.
School officials found a plastic container filled with some type of liquid. They have not confirmed what it was.
Students and staff were evacuated from the building. The 22 students who experienced discomfort were treated by paramedics and released.
According to MCS Media Relations Manager Stefani Everson, several units are investigating the incident including Hazmat crews, Memphis police, and the Memphis Fire Department.
Students will return to school Wednesday.
