(WMC-TV) - The Mercedes-Benz of Memphis dealership is cleaning up quite the mess after a truck went through several of their luxury showroom windows.
A sales professional at the dealership says that they usually have another way of getting their cars on the showroom floor. But now, a gaping hole provides a new entrance after a tow truck crashed through their glass doors.
It was around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when the tow truck pulled up to the service department at the dealership. It parked on a hill.
The driver got out of the truck without applying the brake and gravity took over.
The truck rolled backwards, directly toward the building.
Mercedes sales professionals say within seconds they heard a loud crash and realized that the showroom floor was now an open house.
The truck caused heavy damage to the foundation of the building and smashed two glass windows.
Fortunately, the tow truck driver, customers, and employees escaped without injury.
The company says they will have this entrance secured by Tuesday evening. They also say it is business as usual at the dealership.
