(WMC-TV) - For the first time, friends of a Bartlett women who fell to her death from a cruise ship are talking.

A'riel Brianna Marion, known by her closest friends as "Bri" was 21 years old, and her friends are frustrated by the mystery surrounding her death.

In Mid September, the 21-year-old and her mother, set sail for the Bahamas on a seven day cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas.

Around 47 miles from the Florida port, Marion fell to her death.  Despite a 2,300 square mile search in the Atlantic her body was never recovered.

Myia Crawford, Megan Brown, and London Johnson are heartbroken and haunted by unanswered questions.

"I told her I loved her and to have a good trip and she told me she loved me and she'd see me when she got back," said Crawford.  "They said there was a witness that she supposedly hit on the way down but we don't know too much about it," she added.

"As far as we know they're saying it was an accident they're saying she had been drinking and she just fell off the boat nobody was around when it happened," Brown stated.

"You're just going to fall overboard?  Like it just doesn't make sense," said Johnson.

Friends want to silence any speculation that Marion might have jumped.

"Bri was nothing like that at all," explained Brown.  "She was not suicidal she was just determined and ambitious and she wanted more out of life and she just didn't get a chance to do that."

As they wait for their chance to learn the whole truth, friends of Bri Marion cope by clinging to fond memories.

"Bri was down for anything you'd call her she'd be like oh let's go," remembered Brown.

"I'm just going to miss her as a sister because she was really a part of our family," explained Myia.

"Her laugh, (ha ha) it's like I can't get it out of my head," said Johnson.

Friends say there will be a candlelight Vigil for Bri Marion Tuesday, October 2 at Oak Grove Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
