(WMC-TV) - Less than one day after family members buried 19-year-old James Jones, Jr, they had to face the man accused of killing him in court.
Daniel Farrow is facing murder charges after deputies say he shot and killed Jones last week.
"It's been a tough but we're getting through it, every day gets sweeter and sweeter," said Jones' uncle Chris Dowell.
Farrow, 21, faced a judge for the first time Monday morning.
Farrow is accused of shooting and killing his own cousin, 19-year-old James Jones, Jr., last Tuesday night.
Investigators say Farrow then disposed of Jones' body in a field on Lindsey Road.
Family members say Jones' mother is trying to move past this horrible crime.
"She has released Daniel as far as forgiving him," Dowell said.
Daniel Farrow stared at the judge Monday as he read his charges, which include first degree murder, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse and theft.
As Farrow sits in jail, the grieving family sits together, trying to make sense of what happened.
"We've just got to be strong. I'm praying for Daniel and his situation. We wish things could've been better, but they're not," he added.
Daniel Farrow is set to face a judge again October 12.
Tipton County General Sessions Judge Bill Peeler revoked his bond while attorneys decide whether or not Farrow will face the death penalty.
