Starting October 3, the THP will be accepting applications online only through next Wednesday, October 10.

In order to apply, you must be at least 21. Additionally, to apply, you must be a US citizen and have a high school diploma or something equivalent.

If you make it past the application phase, you will be required to pass a physical agility test. And if all goes well, you will get an interview.

If you make it through, you could be in the next trooper cadet class that begins March 2013.

Bill Gibbons, Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security Commissioner, says he is expecting 3,000 applicants. Also, the department is working to keep the THP at a full staff of 800 people.
