Phone systems hacked, $23,000 stolen

(WMC-TV) - Tax payers will not be footing the bill for damage caused by hackers. Back in June, Hackers tapped into the DeSoto County telephone system and stole $23,000.

The county says scam artists from the island nation of Comoros hacked through the county's email system.

But DeSoto County was not the only one hit by the scam artists.

Phone systems in Batesville, Senatobia and Tunica were also targeted.
