(WMC-TV) – A man is dead after a stabbing in Horn Lake, Mississippi.

Witnesses told police that Michael Christopher Thweatt, 46, showed up to a home on Briarwood Drive to confront James Stewart, 43, about money he claims he was owed.

After an argument, investigators say Thweatt stabbed Stewart multiple times.

Stewart died as a result of the injuries.

Thweatt is under arrest in connection with the murder.  He is being held on a $100,000 bond.

"Even though we have a suspect in custody, the investigation continues and we do look into more the history or the suspect and even the victim to try and try to put the pieces all together," said Lt. Scott Evans, Horn Lake Police Department.

Violent crimes are rare in Horn Lake, this is the first homicide for the city this year.
