(WMC-TV) - DeSoto County supervisors have taken heat over a proposed firearms ordinance. The board of supervisors has decided to hold a news conference Monday to explain what the proposal will not do.
Some think the ordinance would put new restrictions on everyone, but it only reflects state law.
It would forbid carrying and shooting firearms on or across county greenways and parks unless authorized by specific state laws.
A public hearing on the ordinance is set for one week from today.
