(WMC-TV) – A former jail administrator found himself briefly behind bars after being arrested on charges of theft and misconduct.
Doug King, 30, of Selmer, Tennessee, was indicted for theft of property, two counts of official misconduct, and one count of tampering with evidence.
An investigation was launched into allegations of missing funds in August 2012.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, King admitted that he took money from the McNairy County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators believe he took about $8,500 between January and August 2012.
King posted a $5,000 bond and was released from jail.
